The International Marching Sport Federation (IMSF) is proudly established under the governance of the World Marching Band Organization (WMBO), the supreme global authority for the marching arts. For years, WMBO has served as the global beacon for marching bands, establishing international networks, fostering youth development, and setting the ultimate standard for musical and visual performances worldwide.

Our heritage embraces the full spectrum of the marching arts. From the foundational traditions of Marching Bands and the sheer acoustic power of Drum & Bugle Corps, to the expressive visual pageantry of Color Guard, and the specialized technical demands of Winds and Percussion ensembles—we recognize the unique requirements of every discipline.

Marching arts have always encompassed the physical rigor, precision, teamwork, and stamina found in traditional sports. We are not transforming marching bands into a sport; rather, we are making the world realize that marching is a highly demanding athletic discipline. The intricate drill designs and rigorous physical execution inherently unite all aspects of sportsmanship and athleticism.

Operating as a specialized federation under WMBO, IMSF's core mission is to elevate "Marching Sport" to unprecedented global recognition. By utilizing our completely transparent and objective judging framework—known as the Build-up System—we ensure fair play and standardized contest rules.
